Poems

Viktor’s Deutsche Grammophon debut album Poems is conceived and co-written with soprano and visual artist Álfheiður Erla Guðmundsdóttir. The album’s ten exquisite tracks draw on the pair’s shared cultural heritage, setting poems by Icelandic poets past and present, as well as lyrics by Árnason and Guðmundsdóttir themselves. Poems was released worldwide – on CD, on vinyl and digitally – on 10 November, 2023.

Myrkvi

Myrkvi, Viktor’s second album, is a sonic exploration of the shadow self. Based on a dance piece he composed in 2014, the Icelandic composer and producer embraces a more electronic side to his music.

Collaborative discography

Viktor’s particular focus on colliding the worlds of classical composition and studio artistry has – along with his unique approach to the viola and violin – made him a sought-after collaborator for established musicians of many genres. He has contributed to a large list of recordings, either as an instrumentalist, conductor, orchestrator, or arranger.
